wow- i know my readership is maybe a handful of people- but the better part of a month between posts? i am such a slacker!
there's been nothing much exciting going on- yet. 2.0 continues to be more active & i love feeling the little pushes, giant stretches & kicks & rolls. i go back for the (hopefully) last kidney check u/s in a little over a week where i am really hoping tha
t all the extra fluid is gone and everything is just a big expensive cya exercise.
pumpkin is getting more "2" every day. her birthday is in a week! one week away. holy crap!!! she is still a very good little girl- but she has quite the independent streak. she does not want to listen (which i know is normal for 2!) if i tell her to do something she isn't interested in. she does however respond very well to the 'naughty step' if she hasn't listened & it resulted in any sort of action needing discipline (ie- she loves drinking out of a cup now & does it very well. if she spills while drinking i chalk it up to practice, but she wasn't paying attention to the cup on her table while playing so i pointed it out. 4 times. and then she knocked it over. as soon as it happened she stopped playing & looked at me & said 'uh-oh' -not something i typically do either!- so i told her it spilled because she didn't listen to mommie & she voluntarily went to the naughty step while i cleaned it up! must have had that 'mommy voice' working!)
we are having a very small family/friends party on sa
turday for her birthday which i am surprisingly not very nervous about. mainly because every bit of cleaning & planning will be done by the hub. this begins his hell week! all because i won't be here.
i am going to sin city for 4 days for work! i leave this afternoon & get back thursday evening. friday starts bright & early with a 7am appointment for my 1 hour gtt. which i really think my office should have given me at my 24 week appointment so i could have it done around 28 weeks- not 31! but hopefully all's good there. i've only gained 14 (or so) pounds as of this morning (15 at my official weigh in 2 weeks ago since they are night appointments) running around after a toddler, working full time & getting ready for this big trade show i am going to makes it much harder to snack uncontrollably like i tended towards with pumpkin. plus we are still in uber-budget mode trying to save up for my (pathetically short & barely minimal) maternity leave. the taxes are done & refund should be here shor
tly, but that only covers maybe a month's worth if we stretch. it's just so frustrating not having the time, or the money, to just be able to bond with my new babe like i want. thank goodness i only work about 15 minutes away from the house- i literally could come home for a quick lunch & nursing session if i had to.
so- i have a few things to wrap up & a pumpkin to wake up so i can spend the morning with her before my flight. i am going to go a little crazy not seeing her for so long. thankfully our cell phones take good photos & videos, but it's not the same. the cuddles, hugs & requests for kisses out of that sweet demanding little 2 year old pretty much are my entire day. what could this glittering desert oasis of sin (that i can't partake of much of anything there anyway- not even a gambler!) possibly have to compare to this?
