growth spurt?

i know 6 weeks is another growth spurt time- could this be why baby girl ate every 2 hours from 7pm last night until 8/9-ish this morning? i think she's already 11 pounds or so, she is 21 inches long already- could she be gearing up to grow again? i keep waiting for that 6 week marker telling myself- 'it will get easier'. all in all we are lucky with her- she typically (except for last night) goes back to sleep really well in her cradle at night & only cranks a little during predictable times during the day. we also know how to soothe her now & what she likes. unfortunately that's all being held over the shoulder, or rocked face down across my knees. generally things that inhibit my mobility.

which is fine- for now. i know i have 4-1/2 weeks left for my leave, but i keep thinking 'what will i do then?' that (among a few other things) has opened a dialogue between the hub & i. due to some financial hardships & windfalls (a really strange combo that shouldn't work out in our favor but just may have) we may be in a position for him to stay home with her. we had discussed & tried to figure out how to do this ever since i got pregnant & now seems to be the alignment of forces necessary to make it a reality. it would mean sacrifices, a lot of budgeting, and some luck. but i would much rather have her here at home with her daddy than at a day care. and i know he would be happier too. his job history has not been a fulfilling one and if anyone could do the stay at home thing it would be him. he loves owning his days & being on his own. he hates having a boss and a schedule he has to follow. and he is insanely nuts over caiden. he has a magic touch with her & can sooth her at her worst gassy/fussy moments. even when mom & the boob can't!

it's not definite yet, but we have a lot to figure out now...

oh- mother's day was very nice. the hub brought us to a park for a picnic in the woods. baby girl slept right through it & the grandparents came along also. it was a gorgeous day & a lovely afternoon!

I have to say that a stay-at-home daddy is awesome! I wish we could afford for it to permanently stay that way at our house.

You must be exhausted. I hope it is a growth spurt and short lived.

How wonderful that he should be able to stay home with her! My DH has that magic touch with my daughter as well, it's so sweet to watch.

That would be awesome for you guys if T was able to stay home with her! How cool! And sounds like you had a perfectly lovely mother's day.
