3 years & 4 dpo

today is hub & i's 3 year anniversary. being that we got engaged on our 8 year anniversary- we've spent almost 12 years together. i can not imagine my life without him & i am grateful for this past year for teaching us how strong we can be together. we both know that there isn't another soul in this world that we would rather have standing with us in hard times. words truly can not express how much i love this man.

that said- life has been far too much these past few days- i have not been able to catch up on anyone's blog & when i have there's no time to give the comments the posts deserve- i'm sorry if i am now a lurker!

this past saturday was wonderful- we went to the 90% off sale at 3 different tar.gets. we are definitely having christmas at our house this year! we were riding around, having a fantastic time just talking & planning. the good times were soon over. sunday- we were making plans to go out to brunch with our neighbors when a scuffle broke out between our dog & the roomies dog. in breaking it up- hub got bit. badly. the roomies dog had turned on him- quite aggresively. we thought that a vein had been nicked. after rushing to the hospital we learned it wasn't as bad as we thought, but it's still bad. *the dog is going to a rescue by the end of the week, he is in total isolation from us & the pups until then.* major horse pill antibiotics & a visit to the hand clinic tomorrow. i have to help him shower because he only has the use of one hand. every night the dressings have to be changed. he is pretty lucky because it was his left hand (he's a righty) & he still has full feeling & movement in the hand.

the experience did make me aware of two things. one- i am not the person you want with you in an emergency. i am far more level headed when i am the one hurt than i was when he was. two- i was scared to lose my husband. more than i could ever imagine possible. i thought my hub was bleeding to death in our basement. *melodramatic given the actual severity of his injuries, but still what i thought.* now that it is our anniversary 2 days later i am so grateful to have him in my life. our life together may be difficult right now, we certainly have had our challenges over the past year or so and i know the immediate future at least holds even more. but we can tackle them together. and as long as i have him- everything else is a lot easier.

oh- and the 4 dpo marks the earliest ovulation i have had in nearly a year! a day 16 ovulation is so much closer to textbook 'normal' than i have been that it makes me actually hopeful! if not for this cycle with only one session a day or so before- then at least for next cycle- maybe my body is regulating. maybe wee actually have some decent shots. and if not- then testing will begin shortly. i was going to call monday to see about my referral, but the whole dog bite hand issue has taken me away from ttc a little.

Whoa hun...a few things here...number one, yay for the Christmas sale! I love days like that with Thomas when we just spend the day together. Secondly....ouch for the dog bite. Those things can be a bitch, but amazingly not as bad as cat bites in terms of infection, etc...either way, poor Tom, and I'm super glad all seems well and you are getting that demon dog out of your house. Lastly....woo-hoo for the O!! =)

SO when does the roommate get to go into isolation? After that I would seriously reconsider the livingin arangements. I am glad it wasn't too bad though. Have you thought about bagging the hand so he can bathe himself?

Oh wow, there's nothing like a big scare to make you really value what you have.

eesh. A dog bite! Sounds like he got hurt pretty badly (but maybe not as bad as it could have been?).

Congratulations on three years! And congrats on the early O.

And good lord, I love me some ta.rget clearance!

Thank you everyone for the concern about the hub- he got checked out today & told that he is healing amazingly well.

-the roomie is either looking for a place he can take the dog, or placing the dog in a bulldog rescue. i personally think the rescue is the best (& only) place for him, but he has until friday until we pitch a huge fit. it is his best friend after all.

-nancy, i think a little hope coming in can be a good thing- i just need to keep her in line. such as today when i am feeling bloated & my boobs are suddendly sore. why on earth would they be sore at 5dpo! but i am happy that i not only HAD an 'early' O- but that we caught it. even if it was only one shot!
